The Journey of Lent

A friend told me the other day that his parents finally took their Christmas tree down! He said, "As retirees, they ask me, "What's the rush?" I remember one year going home in May and finding a Christmas tree in their less traveled living room with recent vacuum tracks around it! My guess is they won't have taken it down by this Wednesday, and I will have a good reason to force the issue… Ma and Pa, its Lent!"
This is a strange statement, but I think that Lent has become more and more popular. I never remember the long lines of people on Ash Wednesday coming for their ashes as they do now. I can't help but think that in the excesses of our modern day culture, people realize they need to stop and do a reality check. Perhaps we know in our hearts that we are missing the mark, which is why we embrace the season.
I am confident that a well-spent Lent leads not only to an incredibly meaningful Easter but an enriched faith. An increase in prayer, fasting and almsgiving helps us. As one writer puts it, "These practices of discipline and deprivation, accompanied by an overall sobriety of self, are necessary conduits of virtue."
I challenge you to surrender something important for a few weeks—be it TV or ice cream or meat, or evening snacking—and you will emerge on the other side with lightness of being, seriousness of purpose, a greater connection to the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ and even pride of accomplishment, feeling good about your ability to curb the appetites that so often control us. challenge you to spend time in silence—driving, in our chapel, as a family—wherever and whenever. I challenge you to pick an added prayer discipline and stick with it and the results will be the same.
And finally, I challenge you to a greater sense of awareness of those who go without. Make an added contribution to St. Vincent de Paul or Maggie's Place or to the long list of worthy charities during this lean time in our nation‟s history.
In some churches, it is the custom to actually bury the word "alleluia" in the ground and have it rise again on Easter Sunday. Perhaps this could be our symbolic gesture as we bury our selfishness this lent and rise anew on Easter morning!
My heart is filled with joy and gratitude for all God is doing in our parish. May our Patroness, most powerful St. Joan of Arc obtain for each of us the grace to one day meet God face to face and may Our Lady be our solace and guide in every endeavor, joy, and trial! And may the Holy Eucharist be our wisdom and strength!

Channel 95 ??

Just another point on how things here need to be brought up to date !!  Small but just another point made, If you ever watch channel 95 for info here in the community, It looks like a cross between a 3ed grade blackboard with a touch of Lawrence Welk thrown in...I would happily volunteer to bring this up to date, YES Volunteer, Like stated before this community has so much talent spread among residents  !!  It is a shame we do not utilize these talents offered ??  Another reason to disband this antique Board  that has Homesteaded here on us...  Hoping to here continued feedback on schedule of upcoming Resident Meeting..Response has been incredible and seems many many would welcome the chance to discuss the removal of this TIRED OLD USELESS BOARD..

Thanks !! Good Job!

Just a thanks to Wayne, Dan, Pete and crew, 

After the pipes upstairs gave way last week, I must commend the crew for getting to the issue FAST, after 3 days of work and a QUALITY INSPECTION by Wayne, My unit was put back perfect and after just having whole unit redecorated and painted.They went out of their way to make sure all paints matched. YES the Webmaster is fair as stated here in the beginning.Really looks like the crew here is getting their game on and should  get a pat on the back when they do..Sooo Thanks again and appreciate the great service last week


NOW we just need to get a Board here to help with the positive flow that is starting to generate here, Its time for this OLD TIRED Board to let some new blood move us into this next year and get us up to times and out of the 1980's we are stuck in..........

Mr. Webmaster. The "VERY SHORT" term rental situation (Less than 3 months) is a perfect violation of the CC&R's that Brian (Board Member) should provide Leadership on.


Brian should immediately take charge of this situation, ban the offending Leasing Agents / Realtors from this property and make sure less than 3 months rentals will not be tolorated!!!

Brian. You can seperate yourself from the rest of the board members on this issue, and show the Owners that you are on their side of this issue.

A Leadership opportunity has been handed to you Brian....What are you going to do with it? Close your eyes and ears and go along with the board, or show some Leadership on the issue and put a stop to these short term rentals!

Question on this? Our Winter Visitors, I'm pretty sure most of them don't own, they rent and they don't very long. Are they in violation of the CC&R's? Also, not all renters are bad people. To be honest, my name is Jay, Bldg 13,


 been here going on 4 years, love the place, keep a great 2 patios in good shape, and, well, I'm a renter. As for the owner, he purchased this from another person and I happened to come along and ended renting the condo.


 One more little thing, I saw last night while sitting on the patio overlooking Pool #1, and 2 elderly fellows with 2 cute white dogs watched the dogs poop and they continued on their way. 


I'm pretty sure they are Winter Visitors and they don't care. Anyway Mr. Webmaster, keep up the good work. Enjoy your posting.

One of the biggest Violators here is the real estate guy known as Michael Blau and is responsible for many many rentals under our stated period, 


Its time to start keeping money hungry agents like him away from our property, If we start to set examples with one at a time we can put a stop to this issue

Jay in #13. The "Short Term Renters" are not the problem. The Leasing Agents, Realtor s and Absentee Owners are the problem!

The suggestion that Brian (Board) member take the lead on this is a good one. I doubt if Brian has a Leadership bone in his body. He is a get alonger.

Again the major problem is that 3 of the Board Members are either not on property at all or very part time resident with out of State full time residency.

Janet and Iszzy ???? That is why these Board Member elections are so important. The ship has left dock for another year on replacing these absentee board members.

Mr. Webmaster! Now we will see if you are a man of words or action!

And it will take is some organization of all you supporters to show at the meeting being planned to start the ball on replacing the "NEW BOARD"..


We all know  what the procedure is Now we have to act on it accordingly. It is not an over nite solution..BUT the long term goals will benefit us all   


We deserve a Board of Qualified people here. NOW the rest in your hands residents if you truly want a change. Would love to hear from those Residents that would be interested on Running on the replacement slate .THIS Board should know it is in our sights 


ALL these above examples alone show we have a Board that has no clue on the daily effects here on our property

Mr. Webmaster. There are Leasing Agents / Realtors on and off this property that rent units for as little as 3 days / 1 week. These Agents should immediately be stopped from renting units and using Anasazi as there private "PIGGY BANK"

I am sure every year around resident can tell you about many very short term rentals in their buildings and who the rental agents are! Many people in Building #8 and #9 have made comments that it feels they are living in a Hotel / Motel enviroment instead of a Community.

Who polices these agents and who can put a stop to it?

Next question about the Board Members election coming up:
1. Who counts the votes?
2. Who secures the votes?
3. Who balances the votes against
the owners?
4. What procedures are in place
to make sure the board does not
stuff the ballot box with phony
ballots?
5. How does anyone know what the
true vote totals were and who
actually won? Are there any
independant spotters or third
party persons without a vested
interest over seeing any of
these processes?????

Webmaster Comment: I agree with the rentals here for short term also, We have at least 3 here in Building 5 that are a turnstyle, Many just for weekends only..
They leave towels hanging on patio;s and we even had one trying to sunbathe nude      ( Honest) These people that rent here short term use us like a hotel, many with drinks in the pool and last weekend babies in the Jacuzzi with diapers on. We need to start reporting these to Wayne or Roe in the office, I understand it's a $500.00 fine !!
With the amount we have going on here we could sure use that money in our budget and it will also slow the amount of short term intruders here...TIME TO HOLD OWNERS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR UNIT AND NOT THE MANAGEMENT COMPANIES THAT ARE OUT FOR THE SAME BUCK AS ABSENT OWNERS..LETS START TO ISSUE NOTICES TO OWNERS, THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN ALL BE INVOLVED WITH HERE IN GETTING OUR COMMUNITY AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL.

Working Together ???

Well I have to say maybe some of the hard work is starting to pay off, I Notice that after some of my blog postings of a couple weeks ago, That the Anasazi Info Channel has posted the same Things..THIS IS GREAT !!

Looks like if we start working together we can get things in order..Sounds easy enough..Just need some Resident help along the way.

The things we have posted are all things that residents can do to keep this place up to par !

Lets get these PATIOS cleaned up, Also the shoes, garbage and POOP bags outside front doors


AND last but not least pick up after your dogs for the one millionth time PLEASE.

Together we residents can take pride in our own units and the rest may fall into place!!

WE ALSO need to start holding owners who rent and never come to Anasazi start being a little more responsible for the tenants they rent to, So many owners are VIOLATING the 30 day minimum rental policy here and if you dont know this does effect the value of our property here

So thanks again and lets pick up that paper on the ground or vacuum  outside your door ..We can SPIFF this place up ...Pride in Ownership !!

Private Meeting Requested !!

Well after talking with MANY Residents, I have been asked to organize a meeting of the residents here.

It will be in about 21-28 days and it will be to discuss us residents building a new slate of QUALIFIED Board Members, The process we need to remove old Board Members, also discuss the mass mailing to all  residents with our concerns over present election.The Resident owners who do not live or visit here have no clue as to the state of our current board here..This is why we need participation of all of you. Also talking with some solid people who also want to run a new slate here suggesting we go to 7 Board Members with 2 of them being Part Time. Just an explorable option


These are all serious concerns and questions that need to be explored and it needs to be done in the proper fashion..


This not a one person idea either,MANY MANY have requested we take the time to at least explore our options  ..Verrry Fair Idea 


This meeting will be all about planning and I will secure the Room, So if you have any ideas of coming to meeting with any other purpose than working with us...You will be asked to leave


This is a serious meeting of folks that want real changes here that are going to keep our property up with other properties in the area, And keep this upscale community where it belongs


So this is a heads up ....Let your neighbors know this is in the works, I am compiling the mailing list for Out of State Owners now and look forward to seeing all of you


Any help or suggestions will be very appreciated


I would also like to THANK  the MANY of you who came to my door with questions about election??


MANY OF YOU KNEW OF NONE OF THE NEW NAMES  ..SCARY HUH


And thanks to those who wrote me in as a candidate  If was a great gesture


We can take back our property with the right group of organized residents and looks like the 100 signatures  or 25% we would need is well in reach

P.S. This does not imply that I need to be on a new ballot, I am also just interested in getting a qualified board..If at the time I am on ballot, then you can make your decision..AS  stated before this should not be a personal decision but a business one...Many Many nice people here !  Just not all qualified to organize this wonderful community we have.


MAYBE A BOYCOTT OF ANNUAL MEETING IS A GREAT START

To my anonymous mail person thanks for the letters as of late


READ 33-1813 ON REMOVAL OF BOARD MEMBERS


ALL THAT IS NEEDED IS 25% OR 100 RESIDENTS IN A PETITION OF WHICH AFTER RESEARCH WILL BE NO PROBLEM


So let their election run this week and then we dismantle it one unqualified member at a time 


This also means that all of you full time residents that want change need to get off your tushes and lets put a ballot of full time qualified residents here so we can go back to that upscale community we were always referred to..I am not a one man army, if you want change we have to work for it..Sooo if your ready ??
